How far in advance should we book?

We take a limited number of weddings each weekend to give every pet our full attention, so we recommend reaching out three to six months ahead. That said, we always try to accommodate last-minute requests when our calendar allows.

Will our pet be comfortable with a stranger?

Every booking begins with a complimentary meet-and-greet so your pet can get to know their pup attendant before the big day. We move at your pet's pace and build a care plan around their unique personality and needs.

What if our venue doesn't allow pets during the reception?

No problem. We coordinate the ceremony and portrait moments, then whisk your pet home or to overnight boarding so you can celebrate worry-free while they rest easy.

Do you handle cats and other animals too?

Absolutely. Dogs are the most common wedding guests, but we're happy to care for cats and other pets too. Tell us about your best friend during your consult and we'll tailor everything to them.

Best Dog and Co. is a small, home-based team in Wicker Park, Chicago. We travel to weddings across the city and nearby suburbs, and overnight boarding happens in our home so your pet rests somewhere calm and familiar after the meet-and-greet.

Our Story

Born from our own wedding day.

Hi, I'm Billie Bachewicz. When my husband, Nick, and I were planning our wedding in 2025, there was never a question of whether our pup Jax would be there. He's our best friend, and the big day wouldn't have been complete without him.

But a wedding weekend comes with a hundred priorities to juggle at once, and I didn't want Jax to just be added to the list. I wanted someone whose only job was taking care of him—someone who would ensure he was happy, safe, and comfortable from the first photo to the last song. My wonderful wedding party was full of dog lovers who offered to help, but I wanted them by my side, not slipping away to handle walks and water bowls between our vows.

I went looking for someone who would care for Jax the way we do, and I couldn't find it—so I created it. Best Dog and Co. is everything I had hoped for during our own wedding weekend: one dedicated person who gets to know you and your dog before the big day, becomes your dog's new best friend, and makes sure they're calm, comfortable, and part of every moment that matters. You get to be fully present, knowing your best friend is in hands you trust, and your best friend gets a weekend they'll love, too.
